Description:
This is a 10-week, one-on-one, academic mentorship experience designed to help high school students develop structured research skills and complete a meaningful, independent project. Students will be guided through the full research process, from idea development to a final deliverable, which may include a research paper, presentation, dataset or analytical report aligned with their interests.
 
How It Works:
Students begin with guided interest mapping sessions to identify their academic interests, long-term goals, and current strengths. From there, mentors refine these ideas into a focused, manageable research question achievable within the 10-week timeline. Early alignment on a final deliverable, whether a research paper, dataset, prototype, or presentation, ensures clarity, direction, and purpose from the start.
 
Led by a PhD-trained Mentor:
Dr. Swapna Bharadwaj guides scholars through a research experience based on their own interests and curiosity. She provides structured milestones and a framework for project completion. She also provides early alignment on a final deliverable, whether a research paper, dataset, prototype, or presentation, and ensures clarity, direction, and purpose from the start.
