Alesha Walker, M.L.A.

Director of Scholar Support

Alesha Walker, M.L.A., serves as the Director of Scholar Support at Access College America, where she plays an integral leadership role in overseeing the operational success of our scholar-facing programs. With over 30 years of experience in education, Alesha brings deep institutional knowledge, strategic insight, and a student-centered mindset to every layer of our service delivery model.

In her role, Alesha is responsible for scholar engagement and attendance oversight across all workshops, labs, and strategy sessions. She drives the agency’s onboarding process for new scholars, ensuring a seamless, high-touch experience from intake through application submission. She also manages the internal tracking of application outcomes and scholarship results, helping the leadership team monitor key performance indicators.

Alesha is a core member of the management team and works closely with the CEO on curriculum development, policy creation, and organizational efficiency. Her strategic recommendations continue to shape our workshops, essay preparation framework, and company-wide systems.

Though her primary focus is leadership and operations, Alesha remains actively involved in essay coaching each year, personally guiding a select group of seniors through the development of their main essays and short answer responses. Her unwavering commitment to student success and editorial excellence earned her the
2024 Employee of the Year Award.

Prior to joining Access College America, Alesha held positions as a college administrator, adjunct instructor, testing coordinator, and educational consultant. She earned her Master of Liberal Arts in Educational Administration from Dallas Baptist University and holds a B.A. in Psychology from Hardin-Simmons University.

Alesha’s career in higher education spans university, community college, and K–12 settings, including her time at McLennan Community College, where she coordinated the prestigious Coca-Cola Two Year Scholars Program. (Fun fact: ACA’s own CEO, Dale Price, was one of her scholars!)

She and her husband live in Waco, Texas, where they enjoy family dinners, game nights, and the company of their nearby relatives.
